Namely is a very good time, PTO and benefits management system.

There used to be a lot of waste of time and stress because of the issues surrounding employee time-off requests. The available free time, and a decrease in such distractions, has helped the staff and managers become more focused at their jobs and thus more productive. The load on HR staff is also reduced and the employees feel more empowered when they have access to their information at their fingertips. Namely can be beneficial for all companies.

Pros
  • Like some other businesses, we did not have a good system for time and leave management
  • We used to send and receive requests in person or via email
  • All the busy staff had to take the time to write their requests and the busy managers had to attend to these requests
  • Delays and complaints about lack of response were also common
  • Eventually, we got to that point that it had become a major productivity issue
  • This is what brought us to the point that we looked at various time management options
  • Namely was the one that stood out for us
  • Namely not only helps us track the actual time worked but also all types of time that employees take off
  • The accruals for leave and other types of time off allowed are made automatically
  • The approvals are easily accessible to the managers
  • They can manage their staff time better knowing the exact availability of all employees
  • Employees can also view their available leave time, the payment information and the benefits, etc., all thanks to Namely
  • It saves them and the HR department a lot of trips and communication for simple information that is now available to them with a click
  • Our productivity in the Human Resources department as well as for the company has increased since we started using this software.
Cons
  • Something that it won’t track is what is different from the norms or known HR time management policies in most companies
  • For instance, if a company like ours wants to track time other than what is covered by salary, overtime, vacation, sick time, etc., it might not be able to do so
  • Tracking special projects time, or comp time are several of such instances
  • Maybe an update of some sort will fix that as well.
